OUR STORY
Serving the Legal Cannabis Market Since 2010
Punk Hous is a boutique cannabis branding and manufacturing partner built around custom illustration, production strategy, and execution at scale. Since 2010, we have worked inside the legal cannabis market creating custom packaging and custom promotional merchandise designed to perform in real retail environments, not just look good in concept.
Our custom design services are provided exclusively for clients we manufacture for, ensuring illustration, packaging, and promotional products are developed with compliance, production realities, and timelines in mind. The result is cohesive brand assets, from custom packaging to merch, that are engineered to ship, sell, and scale.
Below, we share how Punk Hous evolved and the experience that shaped how we work and operate today.

Dane’s Path from Artist to Cannabis Branding Leader
From childhood, Dane Holmquist knew he would be an artist. To turn passion into a career, he studied graphic design, mastering both traditional illustration and digital tools. While in school, he worked within San Diego’s car culture scene performing pinstriping, airbrushing, and custom automotive illustrations.
That mix of discipline and creativity led to graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design, with a focus on product engineering, product development, and illustration. In 2010, Dane founded Punk Hous as a solo artist and began freelancing for seedleSs Clothing and later their sister company Sprout Branding Agency. It was there that cannabis, action sports, and music collided and Dane was at the center of the evolution in US history with medical and later the recreational cannabis markets. Over more than a decade, he created 95% of the artwork, packaging, apparel tech packs, and custom illustrations that went through the agency, touching hundreds of cannabis brands.
His Deadhead-inspired style and production skills opened doors to major opportunities, including 17+ High Times Cannabis Cup posters, campaigns for Kushstock, Cali Vibes Festival, and dozens of Erb Magazine covers. In music, Dane has illustrated posters for Snoop Dogg, Slightly Stoopid, Nelly, and touring festivals nationwide. His ability to merge art + brand knowledge has helped define the visual identity of cannabis and live music culture alike with one-of-a-kind creative branding.
Kimberly’s Role in Strategy & Growth
While Dane was shaping cannabis culture through art, Kimberly Parker was capturing it behind the lens. In her 20s, she worked as a music and skateboard photojournalist, contributing to skateboarding magazines/websites, seedleSs Clothing, and many other lifestyle brands and publications. Over time, she shifted her passion for journalism towards business. Her roles included operations, sales, marketing, and software development, building the systems that make businesses scale more efficiently.
From 2020–2023, Kimberly consulted for seedleSs clothing and Sprout Branding Agency, where she met Dane. Her role included sales, account management, project oversight, and process development improving design and production timelines, reducing errors, and strengthening the design, sales and production department's efficiency. She served as the liaison for clients.
